About

I just love maps.

Diego's avatar

Hi, I’m Diego, known online as dieghernan. This is where I share my interest in R, spatial data, cartography and open-source software.

Maps, R and open source

Much of my work revolves around making geographic data easier to access, explore and visualize in R. My projects include tidyterra, for working with terra spatial data using tidyverse methods and ggplot2, and giscoR, mapSpain and geobounds, for accessing geographic boundaries and mapping data.

I also work on tools beyond cartography, such as cffr for software citation and resmush for image optimization.

About One World

One World brings together my projects, maps and things I learn along the way. On the blog, I share examples and experiments with R, often starting with a dataset, a visual idea or a map I want to recreate.
