Beautiful maps with R (II): Fun with flags
Put a picture on your map
Want to use a flag (or any *.png file) as a background for your map? You are in the right place.
Beautiful maps with R (I): Fishnets, honeycombs and pixels
Simplified maps with R
Sometimes you want to produce maps with special layouts. I especially like
maps with modified geometries, e.g. simplifying the original shapes to squares
or dots. When searching the web, I found the fantastic post Fishnets and
Honeycomb: Square vs. Hexagonal Spatial Grids
by Matt Strimas-Mackey, which was a huge
inspiration (by the way, don’t miss his blog, full
of very interesting pieces of work).
Leaflet, R, Markdown, Jekyll and GitHub
Make it work in 6 steps - A short tutorial
Recently, I have been struggling when trying to embed a
leaflet map created with
RStudio on my blog, hosted on GitHub via
Jekyll (Spoiler: I succeeded
).
In my case, I use the Chulapa
remote theme that I created.
Where in the world?
