Before filing an issue, prepare a minimal reproducible example and check the available support channels.

Make a reprex

Start by creating a minimal reproducible example with the reprex package. For more guidance, see Get help!.

Where to ask?

With your reprex ready, decide where to ask.

  • For questions, start with Posit Community or Stack Overflow, where more people can help.
  • For bugs, file an issue.
  • If you are unsure, ask the community. If your problem is a bug or feature request, you can return here and report it.

Before opening a new issue, search issues and pull requests to make sure the bug has not already been reported or fixed in the development version. By default, the search is pre-populated with is:issue is:open. You can edit the qualifiers as needed, for example, is:pr or is:closed. Remove is:open to search all issues in the repository, whether open or closed.

What happens next?

tidyterra is maintained by volunteers, so a response may not be immediate. Maintainers may address issues in batches, which can delay responses. A good reprex is particularly important because it lets us investigate a problem when we have capacity. If we cannot reproduce a bug, we cannot fix it.
